Teenage acne. Nothing worse can happen at a worse time. A teenager is already at an age where he or she is very self conscious about his or her image. Although acne is definitely seen on the outside, the affects it has on the inside can be very hurtful. Acne can lower a teen’s self esteem. It can make an otherwise outgoing child become a shy and introverted teenager. It’s a fact that at least 20 million teenagers suffer from acne.
The earlier that acne is treated the better it will be. Once acne has started to go away the treatment needs to be continued. The type of treatment for acne is dependent on the severity of the acne. There are hundreds of different treatments available today.
Light to moderate cases of acne, that which include blackheads, whiteheads and papules, can usually be treated successfully with over the counter preparations. Most of these cleansers and scrubs and spot treatments contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These generally work well. When washing your face do not scrub your skin. Don’t use a washcloth. Scrubbing the skin can irritate acne and make it look and feel worse. Never pick or scratch the acne. This can cause scarring. Some of the over the counter preparations are extremely drying on the skin. Make sure you follow the manufacturers instructions for use. Over drying the skin isn’t good as the skin may rebel against being over dry by producing more oil.

Most people with migraine attacks learn that they have more success if they treat their attacks early rather than delaying medication until two or more hours have passed. They find there is a window of opportunity during which they can resolve their headaches completely, but if they wait too long, then in most cases the treatment is not nearly as good, and the attacks run their full course.
Particularly observant victims of migraine attacks might also discover that when their migraines get to a stage called “allodynia” when everything hurts–even a light brush to the skin or contact with a warm object–then treatment is likewise less successful.
The chances to make these kinds of observations have been available to people with migraine for as long as there have been decent treatments. Aspirin was the first good, widely available treatment for migraine attacks, and was manufactured in tablet form as long ago as 1915. But it has been in only the last few years that scientific studies have explored these phenomena in detail, and revealed some of the secrets as to why they occur.

“Pee-ew! You smell like a skunk soaking in sardine nectar for a week.”
OK, so I can be a little candid every now and then. It’s not something I would say to Attila the Hun during a pre-battle pep rally. But it was not Attila the Hun standing in front of me. It was just my buddy Bart.
“Pee-ew! You have bad breath.”
So when the phone rang that night, the last person I expected to greet me in a cheery voice was Bad Breath Bart. “Hey, Happy Guy. I’m feeling great,” he said. “Want to guess why?”
“You just won the gold medal for the ten-meter turkey toss?”
“Nope,” he replied. “But thanks for the tip. I’ll start training for it tomorrow.”
“OK, I give up. Why do you feel so great?”

Do you remember what it felt like when you banged your elbow on a hard surface and it sent shocks through your forearm and into your little finger? Not too pleasant, to be sure. But on the plus side, the unpleasantness was merely temporary and, for the time being, you remembered not to do that again.
The part of the nervous system responsible for this annoying symptom is the ulnar nerve, a peripheral nerve-bundle whose individual nerve-fibers originate in the spinal cord where it passes through the neck. The nerve-fibers run most of the length of the arm, including through the “ulnar groove” which you may know as the “funny bone” or “crazy bone.”
Some people experience a more persisting impairment of the ulnar nerve called ulnar neuropathy. With “-pathy” as the medical suffix meaning illness or impairment, an “ulnar neuropathy” means an illness or impairment of the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve is vulnerable to injury or pinch in the ulnar groove for more than one reason. First, instead of being surrounded by soft, cushioning muscles and tendons, it is sandwiched between a layer of skin on its exterior surface and nothing but hard bone on its interior surface. Second, when the elbow bends, the ulnar nerve stretches because it has to take the long way around the elbow.

It almost seems surreal. You walk into your doctor’s office wearing your glasses or contact lenses, you receive numbing drops, and within a few minutes, your vision has been restored to what it was when you were 20 years old. You can walk out of the doctors’ surgery in half an hour, leaving your contacts and glasses behind! With Lasik vision correction most people can say goodbye to glasses forever.
It’s amazing to imagine that a cool laser can actually change the shape of the cornea in your eyes. However that’s just what it does. The doctor will lift a small microscopic flap from your cornea and direct the laser beam to actually reshape the cornea so that light can be reflected more effectively. What this does is allow the eye to see properly again, eliminating the need for glasses or contacts.
Laser vision correction is very popular among actors who don’t like to be seen on screen wearing glasses. It is also a very common procedure for sports people and athletes, particularly those relying heavily on their eyesight… golfers and shooters for example.

Fruits are made by nature and are a perfect food. They contain the right balance of nutrients with distilled water. You gain enormous benefits from eating fruits especially if you eat the outer skin and eat them without cooking. They are easy to digest and absorb and do not stress your colon. In addition, they will help you relieve or eliminate your constipation.
Fruits contain fiber, which help to cleanse your colon and prevent constipation. Most fruits help provide the body with minerals that help the body reduce acid as it is created. And most important of all, fruits help cleanse the body of mucus slime that accumulates throughout the body.
Fruits do not leave any slime residue in the body when eaten except when they have pesticides and preservatives in their outer skin. They do not ferment or putrefy in your colon, as do processed foods, dairy products and meats.
Choose your fruits carefully. They should be eaten when they are fully ripe. Do not eat them if they are under ripe or overripe. In the under ripe condition they may be acidic and in the overripe condition the many contain more natural sugar.
Fruits, vegetables, and grains contain fructooligosaccharides, FOS. It is this compound that helps to feed the good bacteria in your colon. Without an adequate supply of FOS, good bacteria will dwindle and bad bacteria will flourish.
