UV Air Purifiers - The Complimentary Air Cleaning System

Tagged Under : , ,

UV air purifiers utilize a type of technology that is most effectively used in combination with other types of air purification systems. Ultra violet air purifiers are not air cleaning filters, in that they do not harvest harmful particulates from the air, like the HEPA or electronic systems. UV air purifiers are, however, an extremely useful addition to a more comprehensive air cleaning system.

UV air purifiers use certain types of ultra violet light to neutralize and destroy microorganisms that live in our environment, such as bacteria and viruses, which can potentially be very harmful, particularly to young children or older people, or family members who have already been compromised by another illness. UV air purifiers are also effective in dealing with mold, and the tiny toxins that mold spores release.

Ozone Air Purifiers - Damaging to Your Health

Tagged Under : , ,

Ozone air purifiers have been the cause of much recent controversy. Put forth by many manufacturers as a safe and effective way to remove odors from your home, many brands, including Prozone air purifiers, have come under fire from other authorities on indoor air cleaners, who claim that ozone is unsafe. And, unfortunately for the manufacturers of these ozone air purifiers, it would seem that the evidence piling up against them is rather weighty.

While many of us might not understand the workings of an ozone air purifier, we are all familiar with the term from environmentalists, who have been urging us for years to take steps against the depletion of the earth’s natural protective shield, the ozone layer. But because this substance is an important part of our planet’s outer atmosphere, this does not necessarily mean it is suitable for human exposure. And an increasing amount of evidence suggests that this is an argument in which ozone air purifiers should lose.

De-Stress Yourself With Oxygen, Water And Sunlight!

Tagged Under : , ,

Oxygen, water and sunlight are the most basic life giving elements on this earth. Without them we have no existence here, but our current lifestyles being so hectic, we seem to take it all for granted and not much thought goes into the fact that we need these elements daily to survive properly.

Our bodies are 70% water and we extract water from what we eat and drink. No doubt you’ve heard that you should drink eight glasses of water per day. This is true although some people may need even more than that. Water is what hydrates you. Drinks like coffee, sodas and alcohol will dehydrate you. Not to say that you should never drink them, but if you do, then drink extra water to make up for it.

Acne Talk For Teenagers

Acne is painful - on the inside. We live in a culture where not just youth, but beauty is worshipped. It’s everywhere and you can’t escape it. The results of having acne can be emotionally devastating for teenagers as they are extremely conscious of their appearance and their image. Even though they feel they suffer alone, they don’t. The fact is that approximately 85% of the population in the United States has at some point suffered with acne, and approximately 17 million people have acne. You are far from alone.

Acne in teenagers is caused by the action of hormones on the skin’s oil glands. During puberty both boys and girls have an increase in the hormones called androgens. These hormones cause sebaceous glands under the surface of the skin to enlarge. The sebaceous glands in response produce excess oil. This excess oil mixes with bacteria and dead skin on the skin’s surface and blocks pores. Inside these pores the bacteria multiple and cause inflammation.

Thousands of years ago there were saunas too. The purpose of a sauna is to give relaxation and cleanse the body from unhealthy elements. Modern technology brought about improved and enjoyable saunas. In most famous world hotels saunas are heated by electricity or infrared, but Finnish like it the traditional way.

Saunas did not originate from Finland, but have become so much a part of the Finnish culture. It is said that there are 2 million saunas in Finland for a population of 5 million. The first saunas were holes in the ground, with a fire pit in the center and a roof to cover the fire, keep the heat inside and protect everything against rainfall, wind and snow. Traditional saunas are heated by wood, burned in a chimney or in a stove. Chimney or smoke sauna, the original sauna, is believed to be the best.

HEPA Air Cleaners - Highly Efficient Cleaning

Tagged Under : , ,

HEPA air cleaners are one of the most effective ways to remove even the smallest of particles from the air in your home. Using technology developed by the government in the 1950s to protect servicemen from radioactive particles, HEPA air cleaners will reliably and efficiently keep the atmosphere in your home free from wandering particles.

The HEPA in the HEPA air cleaner stands for high efficiency particulate arresting, which basically means that the HEPA filter is supremely good at stopping the unwanted critters floating around in your air. The holes in HEPA air cleaners filters are only 0.3 microns in size (that’s 0.00001182 inches for the non-scientists among us), ensuring the capture of not only visible dust and other particles, but many of the nasty bacteria and viruses that have taken residence in the air in our home.

Electronic Air Cleaners - Low Maintenance for Big Improvements in Air Quality

Tagged Under : , ,

Electronic air cleaners are a relatively inexpensive and low maintenance way of removing airborne particles from the atmosphere in your home. Using electrostatic technology to provide a sort of filterless air purifier, electronic air cleaners are a safe way to keep your air particle, fume and dust-free.

These filterless air purifiers work by using the scientific principle of electrostatics. This law means that substances with opposite charges are attracted to one another, and electronic air purifiers harness the power of this principle by collecting the air and giving any particles gathered a charge. The charge emitted by electronic air cleaners is completely harmless to humans, but draws the collected particles to a plate within the cleaner, where they remain, safety extracted from your breathing air.

Follow sensible guidelines. Drink six glasses of water a day. Try to find organic produce. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Broil you food. Avoid fried foods. Eat fiber rich foods such as lentils and beans. Limit your alcohol intake. Go light on the caffeine, only two cups of tea or coffee a day. Stay away from sodas, too much sugar and caffeine.
